DWA 2019 Flashback!

Students, Parents and Friends of DWA,

As have reached 2020, a New Year, and a New Decade, it's the perfect time to look back at some of the amazing things that have happened this year in the term so far.

In October, our Mini, Junior and Senior Elite Dance Teams competed in 5678 Elite Dance Competition with 21 Dances - across Solos, Duets, and Large Groups in many genres. We placed all dances, with many 1st places, and some 2nd and 3rd places. We have been so proud of our students, specifically those who competed for the first time or who placed in very large sections. We ended the entire weekend winning two very big awards - our Junior Team (who competed in their first competition) won the 2nd Overall Highest Score across the entire 2 day dance competition weekend, and DWA won Producer of the Weekend. We are so proud of all of our students, and a big thank you to all of the Parents, Family and Friends who came to watch the students compete.

In November, we had Rebecca Davies come to our studio for some Radar Technique workshops. We had two amazing groups of students take part in classes designed by Rebecca on Turns and Leaps, and the core exercises and techniques behind perfecting these moves. Our students loved these classes, and are looking forward to her return in the future for more classes.

In December, we had our first Christmas Party in the studio, where students from all ages, all classes, came together to celebrate all their hard work in the studio (and outside as they of course stretch and practice at home). We had a lot of fun, some games, and of course we had a showcase of our winning numbers for all the students. We had 3 students who were presented with awards - Most Improved Junior, Most Improved Senior, and Overall Student of the Year. All our students are over the moon for everyone who won.

That's brought us up to now, the New Year! We have been working on planning the next exciting half of the term year.

To all of our students, we are looking forward to seeing all of you back in the studio, on the week of the 6th of January.

Keep Dancing!
